Sunderland is a vibrant city and has fantastic transport links with its near neighbours Newcastle and Durham. These links include the local Tyne and Wear Metro, with stations throughout Sunderland offering a direct, cost effective and quick link to Newcastle and even the International Airport. Road travel is relatively easy throughout the region and in most cases, journeys are not subject to major traffic delays.
The City itself is traversed by the River Wear and it is often described as being North side and South side of that river. The City Centre itself sits on the South side and can be reached from the North, via several road and rail bridges.
The Royal hospital is also situated on the South side of the River and close to the City Centre. There is a wide choice of rental property within easy reach of both the hospital and Sunderland University, with its growing reputation and recent expansion now boasting campus sites on both sides of the river. Most are easily reached, in many cases on foot.
Along with this we have miles of beautiful coastline, some of the best blue flag beaches in the UK again all within easy reach and just a few miles outside the City Centre. We are flanked by the picturesque countryside and would be an ideal location for anyone living or working in the North East of England.
